Date of Next Term
Fencing at Guildford Fencing Club has finished for the
summer holidays. We look forward to seeing all fencers back next
term on Friday 10th September
2010 (date to be conformed with the school - please check this
website in a couple of weeks).
Fencers who want to practise over summer have been
invited to visit the new fencing club starting up in the University
Sports Park on Wednesday evenings - see http://www.surreyswords.co.uk/
for details. Keen fencers may want to train there for a second
evening a week next term, too - they have said there will be a discount
for Guildford members.
Congratulations
- to Gareth Thomas, who placed 14th in the U20 Epee world championship
in Baku - the highest placed of any British U20 fencer this year, and
one of the best results at epee since the competition began
- to
Darren and Millie for winning the Men's and Ladies medals at the Club
Foil competition this year.
